Cash price list

We are redoing our website and thinking about putting the cash price list of common services on there. Is this a bad idea? From the perspective of a patient it would be helpful. I understand we would have to put the full charge price and then list the same-day discount to be “fair” to insurance companies. I’ve asked our state medical society (TX) and they just sent me to their No Surprises Act info page, which doesn’t answer the question at all.

I’d use caution when doing so. If your same-day price is less than what you’re being reimbursed by insurance companies, they have leverage to offer comparable rates the next time you negotiate.

Got my question answered. According OIG, we can’t advertise that we have a prompt pay discount but only inform the patient during the billing process. So that’s a no go for publishing your cash pay fee unless you don’t include that discount.
