Risk Scores

Hello everyone,

Risk adjustment scores are significantly impacting shared savings data in our pediatric population. We have been able to find a lot of information on what is used for risk adjustment in the adult population, as it is transparent and worked out for Medicare patients. However, for peds, we have not been able to figure it out. Chip and Paulie, do you have information on this, or have any the practices had any success? We really need to figure this out!
Thanks!

I agree that we need to find more information about this topic. Using internal medicine risk adjustment information to decide pediatric risk makes no sense, but insurers often lump pediatric and internal medicine together.

Agree. Our risk scores should reflect the complexity of our patient population, but unfortunately we’re lacking information on how to manage it.
