Dental Varnish application for commercial payers

I heard at the conference that commercial payers were now paying for dental varnish applications. Have any Maryland had experience with billing commercial payers and if so are you getting paid?

Have had issues with Highmark BCBS and Tricare. If you have issues you may want to try adding a 33 Modifier to denote preventative services.

We have been billing fluoride application to private insurers since 2015. They have been paying for the service. CPT 99188 with diagnosis code Z29.3 .
