How is everyone handling portal access for adolescents and their parents? The new NG portal shares almost everything documented in the patient’s chart, including confidential history info (it is connected with social history). Here in Virginia, parents/guardians have full right to all medical and educational info (unless physician notates likely substantial harm to the patient if released or legally revoked). We are trying to protect patient/physician confidential relationship, while also abiding by state and current Information Blocking laws. I’m very interested to hear how other pediatric practices are navigating this, even if using different EMR system.
