E/M coding changes 3/9/2021

I am looking for a clarification on the changes for ordering in house labs such as strep, and urinalysis. When also billing the CPT, can we now count them as test ordered? Aware cannot count towards reviewed. Thanks!

Yes…in house labs can now be counted either as test ordered or reviewed…just not both.

Thanks very much for the clarification.

Gigi

why is it just order or review not both? we get the results in the office for rapid strep, flu or covid.

You can only count 1. Highly unlikely this will affect much in coding unless many tests are ordered.
